NEWS UPDATE November 2009! Croatia Coast Property attended the 14th Annual Real Estate Forum in Vodice last weekend. Many long-term forum members were not present due to closure of an estimated 40% of real estate companies in Croatia over the last 18 months. The world credit crisis has obviously taken its toll in the property market here, although surviving, established companies are confident that because of the uniqueness of Croatia's appeal, parrticularly for holiday/investment homes, interest will inevitably return .
NEWS UPDATE October 2009! Property prices on the Dalmatia Coast have dropped for four months in a row. Prices have dropped by 5.1% compared to September 2008. Although Brac Island is a particularly sought after destination for holiday home/investment, some owners/developers are more willing than ever to accept reasonable offers on their property.
NEWS UPDATE! 2009 sees a change in Croatian law for residents of EC countries wanting to purchase in Croatia. It is no longer required that investors obtain 'permission to purchase' when purchasing as a private individual. This change means that ownership of property is now almost immediate instead of the lengthy wait for permission to be granted. This is indeed good news for residents of EC countries.
